Four years after "La Regina" was made, I went back to Sorano and created "The Last Emperor" to keep her company. This piece was also handbuilt by coiling and combined various Raku surfaces: Naked Raku, oxides, and transparent glaze. During the Naked Raku process, the Emperor shed his glaze coat entirely upon thermal shock.
