"A Slow, Dark Horse", made for the Year of the Horse but not a tribute to any dashing Fire Horse, is a stoneware sculpture that calls to the slow horse / dark horse in all of us. The body of this learned horse is wheelthrown, his head and limbs slab-built. He is holding a copy of The Waves by Virginia Woolf.
